good morning. i'm kristen sze. i'm eric thomas. first the weather, patchy and dense fog out there >> let's get some details.

good morning. we are looking over our bridges and overpasses where we have dense fog. in some spots, you will be going along fine then it hits you so be careful out there we'll have it for the several hours. doppler shows all cloudiness and high pressure pushing down on the atmosphere. look at the timeline: 5:00 this morning, fog. through 9:00 right over the east bay, clear east bay valleys and much of the north bay. by the afternoon we will be mostly sunny higher clouds push into the north bay. i'll explain how that will impact temperatures this afternoon. good morning. san jose live shot of 87 headed northbound past hp pavillion. the fog here is not down on the road, but limited visibility lots of spots around the bay area, san mateo bridge starting to get heavy as far as traffic up towards the highrise towards foster city, no fog on the span.

buchanan road and ventura drive. deputies arrived on the scene to find the man already dead and the woman suffering from gunshot wounds paramedics rushed her to the hospital where she died no word on their relationship or possible motive. amy hollyfield is live at the sheriff's department and will give us a update at 5:30. man under arrest following search that forced san francisco police to evacuate an apartment building. it started yesterday morning in the alamo square district. police say shots were examine khaeufrpbged between a man on the sidewalk and people in a passing car they tracked the man down to an apartment building, investigators spotted him as he tried to blend into the crowd coming out of the building no word on what sparked the exchange of gunfire. 19-year-old student in stable condition after falling three stories and hitting his head on the pavement it

to head up the probe, senator feinstein expected to be in attendance. the memorial will be held in the rotunda at san francisco's city hall open to the public and set to start 4:30 tomorrow afternoon. bitter political fight in san jose between police union and some city officials growing hotter. supporters of the union and officers held a news conference yesterday to denounce a mailer from councilwoman herrera, blaming the police union for slow response times and making fewer arrests when crime is spiking. speakers say herrera knows the force has been cut and is playing on emotion. >> i said it before and i will say it again, there's no place for the politics of fear in the city. this councilmember needs to be formally reprimanded. >> what the mailer addressed

is the police union not all san jose police officers. talking about the police union and their tactics. >> herrera is an outspoken supporter of police pension reform. cal-osha workers show workers at chevron refinery claimed the company was ignoring corrosion problems. inspectors learned about corrosion concerns from two workers after a small fire broke out in october of last year. last month chevron revealed a section of the pipe that failed during the august fire had a thinning pipe issue. the 9th circuit court of appeal in san francisco will take up a challenge against california's landmark laws to regulate greenhouse gas emissions tomorrow. a judge strict down the 2006 law signed by governor stpheger that is aimed at cutting the -- governor schwarzenegger that is aimed at cutting

quarter half moon bay. further east concord 2 1/2 miles, livermore is okay, i expect that could change in the next hour. temperatures are very mild, low cloud deck 400 feet in some spots, very mild, 53 to 60 in oakland. numbers in the 50s and 60s as you head out with the dense fog. by the afternoon around the bay we'll warm through the upper 70s, not stopping there inland highs in the mid 80s look ahead, warmer today, beach weather, wind shift 70 at our coast, mid 70s by wednesday, then we're talking 90s inland and it does continue i'll have the seven-day outlook coming up. fog is the big story thick and it comes up fast, take extra caution. golden gate bridge flowing smoothly four southbound lanes

unincorporated area between pittsburg and antioch. amy hollyfield has more live from headquarters in martinez. >> reporter: -- >> we'll try to get back to amy sorry about audio issues. meantime, developing news oakland, police are investigating the city's latest fatal shooting. officers found a man with gunshot wounds before 1:00 this morning he died at the hospital. they are still on the scene now looking for clues. they haven't released information about possible suspect or motive k prosecutors in seattle will decide today in the couple suspected of murder in hercules will be extradited to california or face charges in washington state first. there are -- darnell antania washington were arrested last week in seattle they are also wanted in southern california on charges that included

shooting at a deputy and prison escape. what he arrested the couple was driving the stolen car owned by susie ko the retired teacher from hercules found murdered in her home october 5th. this morning bart police are trying to determine why a man walked into the transbay tube bringing bart service from san francisco to the east bay to a halt for nearly two hours. bart police spotted him on cameras entering the tube at the embarcadero station 6:30 last night. they stopped transbay traffic and began searching for him. police found him on a walkway an hour later. a spokesperson said he didn't appear to have malicious intent. trains were back in service shortly after 8:00. police arrested a woman believed to be responsible for setting a string of arson fire. police arrested the 56-year-old saturday night after a fire investigator spotted her setting a fire. authorities had been staking out that area since late

>> reporter: investigators have a tough case. not only have they not made arrests they don't have witnesses, they don't have good leads. it appears two people were shot to death and no one saw a thing except for the killer or killers this happened 5:25 yesterday afternoon. this is in an unincorporated area of contra costa county between pittsburg and antioch on buchanan at ventura drive. a man was found dead at the scene. a woman was there who had been shot to death but was taken to the hospital she later died there. someone did call in shots had been fired that's why authorities went out there, they made the terrible discovery. investigators will be working hard on this case today. at this point, it appears they don't have much to go on. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. 5:36. the giants couldn't replicate what they did in cincinnati
